Geofizyka Toruń S.A. is a part of consortium, together with GEOPROJEKT Szczecin Ltd. and PROJMORS Designing Office for Maritime Structures Co. Ltd., which will perform geological research, including geotechnical and geophysical research, and result documentation for the land-sea drilling for the Baltica 1 offshore wind farm for PGE Baltica, a PGE Group company.
The scope of work includes geotechnical and geophysical research: onshore – CPTU soundings, piezometric and magnetometric tests, seismic refraction tomography, electrical resistivity tomography and GPR surveys and offshore – CPTU soundings, reflection seismics, bathymetric surveys and sediment profiler (SBP) surveys. The research will start in the second quarter of this year.
The Baltica 1 OWF project with a capacity of approximately 0.9 GW is one of three projects currently being implemented by the PGE Group in the Baltic Sea, approximately 80 km from the coast at the height of Łeba in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The project already has location permit and connection agreement, and the first full year of wind, sea current and wave research. This year, PGE Baltica started testing the subsoil for the onshore part of the investment and signed an agreement to perform preliminary geotechnical tests of the seabed. The OWF Baltica 1 project will be launched after 2030.
